This is a detailed Taekwondo Kickboxing tutorial for the “Spinning HookKick”, effective in Kickboxing, MMA & Olympic style competition. (I tried to be as detailed as possible. Hopefully this version explains things better than the original tutorial.) Other important details: -The basic version of this kick should travel parallel with the ground for maximum power, not at a downward angle. After mastering the basic version, you can practice angling the kick upward or downward, but keep in mind the kick will not be as powerful at these angles. -When you pivot: first, you will raise your heel off the ground and pivot on the ball of your foot. After your kicking foot makes contact with your target and begins to pull through, you will then shift your weight from the ball of the foot, onto the outer edge of the foot, and then finally finishing the spin back into place with the ball of the foot or on your heel. You can NOT stay on the ball of your foot for the entire duration of this kick, and still do the basic version of this kick properly (because your kick will always end up pulling at a downward angle, instead of traveling and finishing parallel with the ground).
