Question by Paul Johnson: Isn’t “The Daily Show” a better source for political news than most media outlets?
Also, I think they should expand the show to one hour and put the first run on live at 8pm eastern. They should have no more breaks, just maybe have a guest host if Jon needs the day off. Maybe we could get a petition going for this.

Yes. I love the Daily Show and feel that it covers the news better than the major news stations. Pretty sad that it outdoes the rest because the Daily Show supposed to be a comedy, not accurate news…

Without a doubt. It actually makes you think and gives you facts rather than rambling and sensationalizing.

Haha…its so true! I find it sad that a fake news show does a much better job at informing the nation…and this is coming from a journalism student..I should become a comedian instead of a journalist, that way I too can share the real news..haha..Colbert is pretty good too…I usually side with his opinions more!

I never watch the real news. I only watch the Daily Show, or even better the Colbert Report. Colbert is hysterical. I love him.

I love the Daily Show and Jon Stewart. It is comic genius. So smart and witty. I think seeing whether someone gets the jokes or not is a great barometer of political intelligence. It does a great job of pointing out the absurdities of the political world and hypocrisies of politicians. An hour would be great – but you’d probably need 2 hosts. With 4 shows a week there is a lot of work going into it.

No. It’s simply entertaining. It’s influenced by opinion rather than fact, which says to me that one cannot believe it one way or another. I prefer taking my news from as many sources as possible. No news source is unbiased, but at least by reading/watching as many as possible, I can read between the lines and find the truth.

I don’t know if better but more fun to watch. It is more accurate and serious than Fox News though

You dont watch the daily show for news, you watch the daily show to be entertained. If you want news go to MSNBC, or CNN, or BBC. Dont come in here spouting your drivel.

No. The show is a joke, and not even a funny one.

The show is simply a social satire. To use it to get hard news borders on the psychotic. If you want to learn what’s going on in the world, read a newspaper or watch a normal news channel. Don’t depend on a comic network, no matter how good they are, for your only source of news.

Your comments about “The Daily Show” are scary and unfortunately believed by many as being the truth. It is a comedy show – a satire – not actual news event – but a comical approach in the analysis of a particular;ar issue. It is entertaining – but it is not a true news reporting show. Jon does a great job questioning and attacking the real news makers.
