Blind Melon – Tones Of Home (Good Quality) Shannon we miss you! =(
INGREDIENTS: Onions (chopped) Garlic (chopped) Parsley Clovers Thyme Oil Salt Garlic Powder Lima Beans Rice (brown or white optional) Djon Djon Mushrooms [Prepare the Djon Djon mushrooms 30 minutes in advance before cooking the rice. Place the mushrooms in a bowl with water (5 cups of water for 6-8 ppl) and let it seep for 30 minutes.] Preheat pot on stove. Once heated pour oil, chopped garlic and chopped onions into pot. Let the onions and garlic take color then pour the lima beans in pot and stir. The bowl of mushroom water has now taken color. Pour out the water into a new bowl with a strainer to remove the remains of the mushrooms (optional). Squeeze the juice out of the mushrooms to make sure none goes to waste! Pour the bowl of mushroom juice into pot slowly then stir. Drop about 4-6 clovers [in the pot], a few branches of thyme, some parsley, also salt and garlic powder to finish it off! Oh yea, keep stirring! Put the lid on and let it boil for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare your rice. Use 5 cups of rice for about 6-8 ppl. PLace rice in bowl and wash with lukewarm water. Rub the rice on hands to remove dirt and rocks and pour out the water. Grab a handful of rice and place it in the pot and stir. This time do not cover with lid to let the rice dry up. After 10 minutes put the lid on and wait about 15-20 minutes. BONNE APETIT!

this song makes me do the crazy dance
@Bystander81 – Blind Melon was no better. They were practically postcards. Still, a more innocent time, I guess. Still some mystery, unlike today.
@wenders99 I remember back when every band had a newsletter. They were always poorly xeroxed and thrown together with crummy desktop publishing templates.
Does Shannon remind anyone else of Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone)?
You go, Gran! =O> R.I.P. dear Shannon. Thank you for the great music. <3!
@ChickenCheesecakable – They were very nice. Rogers was the coolest. He actually took us to meet the rest of the band. This might sound bogus, but they also asked us to hang out with them on their tour bus. This, of course, was right after he told us that they’d cleaned up from a drug problem. Considering how things eventually went for Hoon and the band, we were smart to say no.
@wenders99 Oh, man, you don’t even know how jealous I am…
I love Blind Melon just because of how great they were. I hate how people will dislike Blind Melon Videos (or any videos for that matter) and you’ll find that probably One Twentieth of those people actually dislike the band.
I love Blind Melon! But they sound so much like Led Zeppelin, just a tad more 90′s style added.
anybody else love that giant tapestry they always seem have behind them when they play? i want it…just a bit smaller..
Saw these guys in 1991 open for Sister Double Happiness and Soundgarden. They were first, something like their 7th or 8th show. Crazy how big they were less than a year later. Me and my buddy met the whole band, signed up for their newsletter. I got that thing for years.
blind melon has eyes xD…. and ears haha

So disappointing to realize the world is all “hate and money” Gross isn’t it!! I’ll live in Shannon’s ideal world please!!

@motocarnage615 to be honest, I see Blind Melon as more spring/summer music but it’s great all year round lol
Once again overwhelmed with Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon
@museloverock26 Well said. I find myself jamming to their songs every now and then and remembering some of the best times of my life. Great music which unfortunately gets lost in the 5000+ songs I have on my ipod. Too many good songs and not enough time.

@osmozzz I have made picklese by putting cole slaw mix and sliced onions into a container. Then I add maggie, habenero pepper (to your level of spice), a few cloves white vinegar into the container and letting it sit for a few days. This may not really be the right way to do it but based on picklese I had from a restaurant and a recipe I have for it, it did come out pretty good. If anyone has a better recipe for this please let me know.
I dont have a sense of how much Djon Djon I should be using. I am looking at a recipe that calls for two cups and that seems like way too much? Any thoughts?

You’re hilarious! I love the waiting time dance. But other than that thanks for the post on the recipe. I love haitian food and want to learn how to cook it for myself. So again, thanks!
