Question by Justin: Is a script the best thing I can submit to “Hollywood”?
I was wondering, what is the best type of literature that I can submit to get a movie-idea in-front of a producer, director, or whoever. Be it a script, a treatment or even a scriptmeant. or in other words, whats the easiest thing for them to pick up and read?
Answer by Johan from Sweden Id say a script, cause that shows that you have a credibility to produce something that works on stage, and thus youd already have proven your skills to deliver when turning in future threatments and plot outlines.
But writing a full length script with all the subplots and keeping tracks on the action etcetera is a huge undertaking, and you usually have to rewrite it severel times before you get something thats presentable.
And take it from experience; Youd always think youre draft is ready before it ís. Give it time and rewrite and polish it untill you absolutely sure you cant do it any better than that.
And in the meantime, try to get as many contacts you can, youd always more likely to be honestly read if people know something about you, I should know. Johan
